Detailed Itinerary 5-Day Sirimon to Chogoria Mount Kenya Climb
Day 1: Nairobi – Old Moses Camp (3,300m)
Depart Nairobi early for Nanyuki and the Sirimon Park Gate (2,650m). Begin your trek through towering bamboo and rosewood forests to Old Moses Camp.
This gradual 3–4 hour hike helps with acclimatization as you enter the moorland zone. Overnight stay at Old Moses Camp.
Day 2: Old Moses Camp – Shipton’s Camp (4,200m)
After breakfast, ascend through the Mackinder Valley, surrounded by stunning rock formations and giant lobelias.
The trail reveals panoramic views of the main peaks — Batian and Nelion.
Arrive at Shipton’s Camp for dinner and overnight. This is the perfect base for summit preparation.
Day 3: Acclimatization Day at Shipton’s Camp
