Event Highlights

• Ngangao Forest: Trek through one of the few remaining indigenous cloud forests. Home to the rare Taita Thrush and giant trees over 200 years old.
• Taita Rocks (Vuria Peak): Conquer the highest point in the Coast region. On a clear day, you can see the shimmering Indian Ocean and the snows of Mt. Kilimanjaro.
• Mboghonyi Falls: A hidden sanctuary of water and greenery tucked deep within the hills.
• Cultural Heritage: Experience the warmth of the Taita people and their rich history.

Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi to Taita Hills

• Morning: Depart Nairobi via the SGR (or private 4x4) enjoying views of Tsavo.
• Afternoon: Arrive in Wundanyi. Check-in and a light afternoon hike to Yale Peak for a panoramic sunset over the plains.
• Evening: Dinner and overnight in Wundanyi/Taita Hills.

Day 2: Ngangao Cloud Forest & Taita Rocks

• Morning: Guided trek through Ngangao Forest. Learn about the endemic species and the "Mother Tree."
• Afternoon: Challenge yourself with a hike up to Vuria Peak or the dramatic Taita Rocks. The rock formations here are a photographer’s dream.
• Evening: Bonfire and storytelling session.

Day 3: Mboghonyi Falls & Return

• Morning: A scenic walk to the Mboghonyi Waterfalls. Enjoy the crisp air and the sound of falling water before a final Taita breakfast.
• Afternoon: Visit the famous Taita Skull Caves (optional/cultural) before departing for Nairobi.
• Evening: Arrive in Nairobi.
