Day 1: Arrival & Exploration of Aberdare's Lower Slopes

• 07:00 AM: Nairobi Pick-up & Departure. Our 4x4 safari vehicle collects you from your hotel in Nairobi. Enjoy the scenic drive towards Aberdare. Light refreshments are provided.
• 11:00 AM: Arrival & Aberdare National Park Entry. We reach the park gates. Our guides handle all entry formalities. An armed KWS ranger joins our group for safety. 
• 12:30 PM: Picnic Lunch & Nature Walk. We enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic spot. Afterward, take a gentle nature walk. Explore the unique flora of the lower montane forest.
• 03:00 PM: Game Drive & Forest Exploration. Embark on a thrilling game drive. Look for elephants, buffaloes, and giant forest hogs. Explore the misty bamboo forests.
• 06:00 PM: Check in to Campsite. Arrive at our designated Aberdare campsite. Our team sets up your comfortable tents.

Day 2: Mount Satima Summit & Moorland Majesty

• 06:00 AM: Early Breakfast. Enjoy a hearty breakfast at the campsite. Prepare for summit attempt on Mount Satima.
• 07:00 AM: Drive to Trailhead & Briefing. We drive to the preferred trailhead (Shamata or Wandare Gate). Your guide provides a detailed briefing.
• Decide your route: Shamata vs. Wandare: Choosing Your Mount Satima Hiking Route with Wild Springs Adventures. 
• 07:30 AM: Begin Mount Satima Ascent. Start your hike to the summit of Mount Satima. The KWS ranger accompanies us.
  • Shamata Route Option: This is the beginner-friendly scenic hike. Expect gentler slopes and panoramic views. 
  • Wandare Route Option: This is the challenging route to the Mount Satima summit. It offers a steeper, more direct climb. 
• 12:00 PM: Summit & Picnic Lunch. Reach the 4,001m summit. Celebrate your achievement. Enjoy a packed picnic lunch with breathtaking 360-degree views. 
• 01:00 PM: Descent. Begin your descent back to the trailhead.
• 04:00 PM: Return to Campsite. Relax and refresh back at the campsite.
• 07:00 PM: Dinner & Relaxation. Enjoy dinner. Reflect on your summit accomplishment.

Day 3: Waterfalls, Cultural Insights & Departure

• 08:00 AM: Breakfast & Campsite Pack-up. Enjoy breakfast. Our team efficiently packs up the campsite.
• 09:00 AM: Aberdare Waterfalls Tour. Drive to visit the park's majestic waterfalls. See Karuru Falls, a stunning triple-cascade. Witness the beautiful Chania Falls.
• 11:00 AM: Cultural Connections & Wildlife Spotting. Learn about Aberdare's historical significance. The ranges were a Mau Mau stronghold. The Mau Mau's Mountain Stronghold: Historical Significance of Aberdare and Mount Satima. We continue our wildlife drive. Look for unique forest species, such as the mountain bongo antelope.
• 01:00 PM: Farewell Lunch. Enjoy a final lunch within the park or en route.
