What Happens During the Pepo Racer
Launch: Running launch from the Kijabe escarpment edge. The thermal rises immediately — the pilot climbs aggressively to gain altitude above the standard glide path.
First manoeuvres: Once at altitude, the pilot initiates the first wing-over — a sweeping pendulum motion that builds toward the spiral. The valley floor rotates through your view. The wind builds in your ears.
Spirals and fast turns: Controlled spirals generate real G-force — you press into your harness. The Rift Valley floor and the escarpment above alternate through your field of view.
